Clive Tomsett
Clive is the Co-Chair of the FCI Clinical Safety Officer Special Interest group, a highly experienced Clinical Safety Officer and Risk Management professional.

Clive has an MSc in Risk Management from University College London. He is a member of The Institute of Health Service Managers and a Member of the British Computer Society. Clive is an Associate member and the Co-Chair of the Facility of Clinical Informatics Clinical Safety Special Interest Group. He has a strong track record of work in Clinical Risk Management services with both health IT vendors and health care organisations and acute, primary care and commissioning management roles both within the NHS and the private sector.
He was Head of Clinical Risk Management at Cerner for 6-years, providing clinical safety assurance both in the UK and Europe. His wider experience encompasses BT Global Health, as Head of Clinical Risk Management and latterly Clinical Director; working in the US with the National Centre for Patient Safety, Department of Veterans Affairs and in Zambia as a divisional Chief Clinical Operating Officer.
He has also worked for Accenture and Fujitsu in various clinical management roles concerned with patient safety and Health IT clinical risk management and was a Director at the National Patient Safety Agency. Clive initially trained as an Operating Department Assistant; his last clinical role was as a Multi-Organ Transplant Co-ordinator.
